The importance of giving charity with sincerity

A Loan to Allah Almighty: Story of Sister Marjan

Who is he that will Loan to Allah a beautiful loan? for (Allah) will increase it manifold to his credit, and he will have (besides) a liberal Reward.057:011

This is a true story pertaining to the above verse from the Holy Qur’an to show:

  1. The importance of giving charity with sincerity.
  2. The virtues that one can receive from their charity.
  3. The importance of teaching your child how to conduct their life style in doing good deeds which will benefit them in this world and the hereafter.

This short story is an example to all brothers and sisters who have children to help them conduct their life style into good actions.

Sister Marjan was a very pious woman, she had one son named Faan, who was out of work for a long time; it so happened he found a job, but the pay was very small. Marjan told her son that when he received his first pay cheque, he must give her a small part of it for charity. She intended to buy some gifts for two little children, whose parents had passed away. When Faan received his first pay cheque. he gave his mother twenty dollars, saying he was sorry that he could not afford any more. Marjan told her son, it is not the amount that is important, it is the intention that counts and through your sincerity Allah (swt) would reward you immensely. She then went out and bought each child a pen set. She showed Faan what she bought and he really liked the pen set, so he asked his Mom if he could have one of the pen set, she told him she was sorry for the intention was to help the children with the money you took out from your first pay, and this is what Allah (swt) guided me to buy for them. He smiled and walked away feeling sad inside. A month later he got a better job working for a company that makes pens, as a sale representative. He was allowed to keep the pens that he wanted, and they were really good quality pens. Faan was disappointed that his mother did not give him one of the pen set which she bought for the children, but he never regretted. He was quite happy and only wishes he could buy more things for them.

Through our good actions, Allah (swt) blessed light of peace and unity will enter into our hearts, which will enable us to receive His mercies and right guidance and this will guide us to the straight path, the path of righteousness. Allah (swt) tells us in the Holy Qur’an:

But Allah doth call to the Home of Peace: He doth guide whom He pleaseth to a way that is straight. 010:025

To those who do right is a goodly (reward)- Yea, more (than in measure)! No darkness or shame shall cover their faces! they are companions of the garden; they will abide therein (for aye)! 010:026
