The Journey of our Daily Lives – The Circle of Righteousness – Section 1 – Part 4

Haseena’s humble supplication through Zikr.

Allah (swt) Almighty has further instructed us in his infinite wisdom to honour the Blessed Prophet Muhammad (owbp), in a worthy manner. For this reason, Milad Shareef functions have been widespread throughout the Muslim world, bringing to light the true value of sending Darood and Salaam to our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (owbp) In the remembrance of Allah Taala and his Beloved Prophet Muhammad (owbp) whose life and deeds are recounted on such occasions as the remembrance of Allah (swt) Almighty as a source of inspiration and in it there are great blessings. The Holy Qur’an states:

Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect. 033.056

This topic has been the focus of many debates and controversy within the Muslim community. Many people take this passage literally and stand proudly to show their respect and to shower blessings onto our Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (owbp) while others view this as a form of worship and idolization. Haseena wanted more than anything for people to open their hearts to the words of Allah (swt), and to realize that He ordered us as believers to show respect to the Prophet (owbp). Although she was very strong in her faith and believed in spreading the knowledge of Islam to all who would listen, she knew that getting people to see the importance in this Ayah , was not going to be an easy task.  She also knew that she could not simply explain this particular Ayah to people, she would have to base her argument on a story of fact so that they would be more inclined to accept what she was saying .  For many nights she reminisced on events that had taken place throughout her life, as well as those that others had shared with her; but none would do.  With that, she knew that the only way she was going to get the insight that she was looking for was to go straight to the source; Allah (swt) Himself.

That night Haseena made Du’a to Allah (swt), and explained what she was trying to do, she wanted to put an end to the controversy relating to the message contained in Surah Ahzab.  She begged Allah (swt) to show her a sign of something, whether it be a person or an animal, illustrating what was truly meant by this verse.  With this done, she left her trust and faith in the hands of Allah (swt) and went to bed.  Not long after falling asleep, she was blessed with a very beautiful dream.  She dreamt that she was sitting front and center at a lecture of her pious and righteous Shaykh.  The Shaykh called for water so that he could make Wadu.  The water was brought to him; he put out his hands so that it could be poured into them.  Haseena then rose to her feet and began to make Wadu from the Shaykh’s hands. Masha-Allah Wala Hau-la Wala Qu-wata Illa Bil-La Hil-Alee Yil-Azweem.

When Haseena awoke she was beaming from ear to ear, for she knew that this was a rare and special dream.  She wanted to share the blessings of this dream with her daughter.  She quickly got out of bed and ran towards her daughter’s room. Her daughter was still asleep, but she knew that it was important to wake her up.  She opened the door to the room, but before she could say anything her eyes were immediately drawn to her daughter’s cat, which up until now had been fast asleep on the desk.  Her mouth was left opened at the sight she was witnessing, wondering if in fact she was still dreaming.  The cat had immediately risen to his feet and was staring at her.  She knew that this was the sign that she had asked Allah (swt) for, because the cat had never acted this strange. She walked over to her daughter and gently rubbed her face sharing with her the blessings of the dream she had.  She then walked over to the cat, who had now returned to his original position, stretched out her hands and said, “I was blessed with a dream of my respectful Shaykh, and do you want my Shaykh’s blessings?”  The cat looked at her, as if he understood every word that she spoke, and then licked her outstretched hands as if taking the blessings from her. This was something he had never done before. Haseena smiled, for she knew that she had been blessed this day more than she could have ever imagined.  Alhamdu-lillah she was rewarded with what she had asked for.

She was now armed with the truth from Allah (swt) Himself, and with this she could spread the message and put an end to this topic of dispute.  She knew that even after receiving this very important sign, not all people would be easily convinced, but she had been chosen by Allah (swt) to act as His vessel of truth, and she would not turn back now.

But Allah doth call to the Home of Peace: He doth guide whom He pleaseth to a way that is straight. 010:025

To those who do right is a goodly (reward)- Yea, more (than in measure)! No darkness nor shame shall cover their faces! they are companions of the garden; they will abide therein (for aye)! 010:026
