Why is not a sign sent down to us from Allah (swt)?

The Holy Qur’an states:

They say: “Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?” Say: “(Allah) hath certainly power to send down a sign: but most of them understand not. 6:37

Many of us usually asked Allah (swt) to show us sign: When we are in need of something; but how many of us can read our sign?

Someone without spiritual insight would not be able to understand the Signs in things they asked for, such as dreams etc. For example: A believing woman who has a unbelieving husband, that turns his back from her in their marriage, and he is being very arrogant towards her also his friends and relatives: So she ask for a Sign in a dream, by Allah’s (swt) will she had a dream where she saw lots of shoes in a pond of mud. Now how can one understand such a dream, if they not have the spiritual insight as mentioned in the Holy Qur’an:

None will grasp the Message except men of understanding. 3:7

Some are searching for hidden meanings, but no one knows except Allah (swt) and those who are firmly grounded in knowledge and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.

The people who are blessed with spiritual insight, they are the ones who are firmly grounded in knowledge and wisdom: The more they know, the more they realize how little they know of all the depth of truth in the spiritual world. But their faith is strengthening each day by their hard task, of seeking their Lord’s face in their prayers and in their kind and merciful conduct. The glimpse they get of the truth from their Lord: They accept it with thanks and gratitude, and they hold fast to it in their hearts.

Now: The dream explained: The husband who turn away from God Almighty, at the time he would mock God Almighty and he would oppress and spite her (his wife) in some ways, also his family who are oppressive, so the mud she saw in her dream pertains to her since we (mankind) were created from mud.The Holy Qur’an states:

(Iblis) said: “I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and him thou createdst from clay.” 38:76. Also see ch.6 vs 2.:

Shoes are beautiful on top, but are dirty at the bottom.

So the many shoes she saw pertain to her husband and his oppressive relatives (or friends). This example is to help one with the understanding of how important it is to have spiritual insight.
