How can one get rid of their hasty actions? Why are some people so hasty?

Hasty is the very bone and marrow of man. As the Holy Qur’an states:

Man is a creature of haste: soon (enough) will I show you My Signs; then ye will not ask Me to hasten them! 21:37.

Hasty breed weakness in action and faith: In our life of probation on this earth, our virtue and our faith are tested by many things. Allah (swt) created us with a free will to act how we wanted to act, some of us act in haste over matters that don’t seem pleasing to us at times and some of us act with patience and understanding. The people who act in haste, their faith in Allah (swt) are very weak, e.g.1. Like a weak foundation for something, it would not stay up for too long.  Hasty breed weak actions and weak faith, while patience breed calmness and firmness which helps to build strong foundation.

The prayer that man should make for good, he maketh for evil; for man is given to hasty (deeds). 17:11.

When sincere devotion is not rendered to Allah (swt), there will not be any true wisdom to act with patience and justice, and as such one will not know or realize his own true position (spiritually) that detour him from salvation. People with weak faith in Allah (swt), they always feel unhappy and disgusted with themselves. They are blind to God’s mercies. Sincere devotion to Allah (swt) is the key to patience and the key to a successful life spiritually and materially.

Call ye, then, upon Allah with sincere devotion to Him, even though the Unbelievers may detest it. 40:14.

Allah Almighty makes everything in our daily life so easy for us, to protect us from dispute. As mention in the Holy Qur’an:

So from whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque; and wheresoever ye are, Turn your face thither: that there be no ground of dispute against you among the people, except those of them that are bent on wickedness; so fear them not, but fear Me; and that I may complete My favours on you, and ye May (consent to) be guided; 2:150.

A similar (favour have ye already received) in that We have sent among you an Messenger of your own, rehearsing to you Our Signs, and sanctifying you, and instructing you in Scripture and Wisdom, and in new knowledge. 2:151.

Then do ye remember Me; I will remember you. Be grateful to Me, and reject not Faith. 2:152.

O ye who believe! Seek help with patient perseverance and prayer; for Allah is with those who patiently persevere. 2:153.

When we want to pray to Him, we can turn our face to any direction. He also mentions that if we fear Him so as to act with justice and patience, He would complete His favors on us and guide us to a straight path as stated in the verse above. E.g.2. One who wish to come out from his hasty actions, must start to remember Allah (swt) more, and try hard to pray from the heart, close your eyes and think that you are about to fall into a ball of fire, and you are calling out to Allah (swt) with fear and hope, that He will come to help you, do this as often as possible and Insha Allah you would achieve Allah’s (swt)  help and His grace to act with justice and patience.
