The Holy Qur’an states:
To those who believe and do deeds of righteousness hath Allah promised forgiveness and a great reward. 5:9.
Those who reject faith and deny our signs will be companions of Hell-fire. 5:10.
O ye who believe! Call in remembrance the favour of Allah unto you when certain men formed the design to stretch out their hands against you, but ((Allah)) held back their hands from you: so fear Allah. And on Allah let believers put (all) their trust. 5:11.
Allah did aforetime take a covenant from the Children of Israel, and we appointed twelve captains among them. And Allah said: “I am with you: if ye (but) establish regular prayers, practise regular charity, believe in my apostles, honour and assist them, and loan to Allah a beautiful loan, verily I will wipe out from you your evils, and admit you to gardens with rivers flowing beneath; but if any of you, after this, resisteth faith, he hath truly wandered from the path or rectitude.” 5:12.
Here are some advice:
(1) Do justice, help the poor and the needy people, act righteously in a favorable or neutral atmosphere, it is meritorious enough to start building a relationship with Allah (swt).
(2) Cleanliness means a lot to Allah (swt) as well, if one keeps himself or herself clean at all times, in mind and body and soul, he or she is bound to gain (zeal) strong love for Allah (swt), which would help them to do things that would always pleases Him.
(3) Purity of motive in the inmost recesses of the heart and soul, to exercise patience and kindness to people who hates you or whom you dislike, justice is a heavenly fountain; it leads to righteousness.
(4) Man is under a spiritual obligation under an implied covenant with Allah (swt); and He has given man reason, judgment, the high faculties of the soul, and even the position God Almighty Vicegerent on earth: and so man is bound to serve Him faithfully and to obey His will. That obedience begins with cleanliness in body, functions, food, motive etc.
