The Holy Qur’an states:
Verily spendthrifts are brothers of the Evil Ones; and the Evil One is to his Lord (himself) ungrateful. 17:27
Allah (swt) knows every hidden thought and motive in our mind, and also everyday actions in our conduct, wasteful, extravagant irresponsible way of spending (money), any kind of misusing God Almighty gift to us, is plain ungratefulness to Him. We are to enjoy our wealth by spending in moderation and helping the poor and needy ones, and we should be thankful and grateful to Allah (swt) for His favors.
The Holy Qur’an states:
Make not thy hand tied (like a niggard’s) to thy neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach, so that thou become blameworthy and destitute. 17:29
We are told not to be a miser as well; we must not turn our backs from those people who have a right to our help. Even strangers who are poor and in need have such a right over us, for our help. Everything we do, we must keep a just measure between our capacities. Any misusing of God Almighty gift to us can lead us to serious trouble in our everyday life. Shaitan fell by his ingratitude to Allah (swt), so those who misuse or squander God Almighty gift are also ungrateful to Allah (swt).
