What happens when one turn away from the Zikr of Allah (swt)?

The Holy Qur’an states:

If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of ((Allah)) Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate companion to him. 43:36.Such (evil ones) really hinder them from the Path, but they think that they are being guided aright! 43:37.

If men deliberately put away the Zikr of Allah (swt) from their mind and turn away from it; the natural consequence under Allah’s (swt) decree is that they join on with evil. There is hope for a person who wanders in quest of truth, and even for one who wanders through mistakes or by weakness of will. But there is none for one by deliberate choice plunges into manifest error. Evil desires, the evil of others and go headlong in sin and dig themselves deeper and deeper into sins, until one becomes deaf, dumb and blind.

The Zikr of Allah (swt) has so many blessings, that it draws the Shaitan more than any other righteous deeds, just like how sugar or any kind of sweet attract the ants or wealth which draws the thief. In a Zikr gathering the Shaitan can only attack the people whose faith are weak in Allah (swt) and they are the ones who will not feel any spiritual blessings and as such, they are the ones who will move away.

Insha Allah I will try to give a few examples on how corruption arose from righteousness.

Example 1: If a thief comes into a house with a gun, where there are lots of people, for sure some would go crazy yelling for help, some would try to run away and some would stay calm seeking God Almighty help, some would try to reason with the thief and give them what they want.

Example 2: If there is a crowd of people and someone is shouting in that crowd, that there is a bomb under their seat, can one imagine what would happen in that crowd of people. Would there be anyone left sitting in that gathering? ‘Yes’, the ones who will be looking for the bomb. And if the purpose of that gathering is someone who is sharing gold, silver and diamonds, who would receive these wealth? Of course the ones who stay back to look for the bomb.

As to the first example only the people that are sitting calmly seeking Allah’s (swt) help would be safe, all the rest would get themselves killed, evil is not to be reason with or to give up all that you have because of fear. Shaitan is weak and any weak faith is fear, and evil feed’s on weakness of faith in Allah (swt). Through the Zikr of Allah (swt), we shall have all of our heart’s desire (and more) fulfilled in this world and in the hereafter. Our devotion and our service to Allah (swt) would result in the soul being made free from all fear and all sorrows in the hereafter. Even the Angels do the Zikr of Allah (swt) and they also pray for forgiveness for all beings on earth. The Holy Qur’an states:

The heavens are almost rent asunder from above them (by Him Glory): and the angels celebrate the Praises of their Lord, and pray for forgiveness for (all) beings on earth: Behold! Verily Allah is He, the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 42:5.

Through the Zikr of Allah (swt), one gains wisdom and understanding through inspiration that comes to the souls during the Zikr of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) commands all power: therefore any power we seek must be from Him, and His power is steadfast, the same for today, yesterday and forever, therefore His help is always near.
