Our life in this world, we must use it as a preparation for our spiritual or inner life.
The life of this world is but play and amusement: and if ye believe and guard against Evil, He will grant you your recompense, and will not ask you (to give up) your possessions.47:36.
Amusement and play are not bad things in themselves, but we must not get too deep in it so as to forget our Creator and our duty to Him and His Apostles. We are to make preparation for the most serious life. Joy and fun have their value, but if we concentrate on them and neglect the true meaning (or business) of our short term of life on this earth, we would not be able to prosper (spiritually). As the Holy Qur’an states:
O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the apostle, and make not vain your deeds! 47:33.
Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost: for Allah is with you, and will never put you in loss for your (good) deeds. 47:35.
In worries and trouble, if we show patience and act with justice, not with haste and injustice, Allah (swt) will make life easier and easier for us.
One can never prosper (spiritually) whose actions are out of spite and injustice; we learn the greatest spiritual lessons by parables and similitude’s from things that happen in the outer world. If a man goes after a mirage or a thing that has no real existence, such as evil actions which has no value in the sight of Allah Almighty, he can never reach his spiritual goal with Allah (swt). While the man that follows the kindly light from Allah (swt) leads him on, must be happier in mind, sounder in heart and firmer in life, generally for every moment that he lives. Little advice: (1) Rebellion against Allah (swt) leads to destruction. (2) Fidelity will cool the mind and feed the heart with peace. (3) Love and respect for Allah (swt), His Prophets and His Angels will warm the affection and sweeten the life.
